BS/BA in Public Health
The BS/BA in public health teaches students the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in career paths in public health, health care, and other health-related and non-health-related fields. Students learn how to learn, how to think crtically and systemically, how to communicate, and how to work in teams. Students heading toward public health- and health-related careers learn essential knowledge and skills for the health of populations. The program contributes to the University mission in “(1) Educational Experience, (3) Accessibility, Diversity, Equity, and Communication, and (4) Partnerships and Collaborations.” The program's focus is its five goals: knowledge of the enterprise of public health; knowledge of human biology, health and disease, and culture relevant to public health; knowledge of the built and natural world relevant to public health; intellectual and practical skills; and integration of culture, society, and public health.
